Since its launch in January, the Home Energy Retrofit Opportunity program has received more than 1,600 applications, representing more than $33 million in 1,100 approved projects. So far, about 250 contractors in Southern California have registered to promote the program for their clients. “We have had $4 million worth of projects completed and funded,’’ said John Paul McNeill, chief executive and director of San Diego-based Renovate America Inc., which offers the HERO financing and program.
